SLV 2025 fellowships

State Library Victoria (SLV) has announced the 2025 fellowship recipients, including several writers working on book projects.

The recipients include:

Marion Orme Page Regional Creative Fellowships ($15,000)

  • Louise Crisp for ‘Bogong’, ‘a long form ecopoetic text […] based on the archives of ecologist Maisie Fawcett’

Children’s Storytelling and Literature Fellowship ($15,000)

  • Joanne Amarisa and Mei Leong for ‘My Summer in the Library: A guided storytelling adventure for children and teens’

Berry Family Fellowship ($15,000)

  • Elyas Alavi for research exploring South Asian cameleers in Victoria to produce ‘new poetry, installation, and drawings, alongside a series of art talks and panel discussions’

Redmond Barry Fellowship ($15,000)

  • Brendan Casey for ‘Magascenes: A guidebook to Australian little magazines’  – an accessible guidebook of ‘small, independently edited and printed poetry journals’

Tate Adams Memorial Residency at Baldessin Studio ($5000)

  • Ella Mittas for her second cookbook ‘featuring original prints, essays and Greek-Australian recipes’.
