Stella Day Out to host evening in Sydney
Literary organisation Stella has announced an evening edition of its Stella Day Out program, to take place in Sydney on 14 August in partnership with Western Sydney University.
Featured authors include Mykaela Saunders, Jumaana Abdu and Randa Abdel-Fattah. An exhibition titled Always Will Be – after Saunders’ 2024 UQP short story collection – will be presented, and Saunders will feature in an opening conversation within the gallery space.
Following a dinner session, the three authors will give short readings, then participate in conversation with fellow author Sara M Saleh.
Stella Day Out is a free one-day literary festival that ‘celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature’. Ticketing details for this most recent iteration are not yet available.
The organisation has also recently run events in Warrnambool and Adelaide, while August events are planned for Darwin and Canberra. Programs are released individually.
More information about the upcoming Sydney event is available on the Stella website.
