Tasmanian Writers and Illustrators Mentorship Program 2025 recipients announced

The Australian Society of Authors (ASA) has announced the 2025 Tasmanian Writers and Illustrators Mentorship Program recipients.
The writer recipients are:
Fiction
- Bev Goldfarb for ‘Legacy’
- Ellie Campbell for ‘Billie Manners’
- Jillian Brady for ‘Shadows of Clouds’
- Kate Gordon for ‘Silvereye’
- Kylie Carman-Brown for ‘The Girl With the Green Fingered Heart’
- Philippa Moore for ‘Longing’
Nonfiction
- Cathy Byrne for ‘Some Justice’
Poetry
- Jeanette Thompson for ‘Wandering Islands of the Inland Sea’
Young adult
- Breeze Navarro for ‘Water Shaped Breath’
- Ceilidh Newbury for ‘Skates, Dates, and Other Deadly Weapons’
- Julie Hargreaves for ‘In Search of a Green Thumb’
- Tess Crawley for ‘The Deep’
Children’s writing
- Blake Raymond Nuto for ‘The 7 Elaborate Defences of Frederick Irvine’
- Wendy Adams for ‘Quit Calling Me Stumblemore’.
The artist recipients are:
Illustrated works
- Jamie Edward for ‘Acroryhmes’
- Ruth Thomas for ‘Towser Bear, Get Out of There!’.
Each writer receives a 20-hour mentorship and each artist receives a ten-hour mentorship. All winners receive one year of membership to the ASA and invitations to some ASA events.
Assessors included Debra Adelaide, Adolfo Aranjuez, Samera Kamaleddine, Jess Racklyeft and Nicole Smede.
