Stella Day Out Ballarat program announced
Literary organisation Stella has announced the evening program for its Stella Day Out event in Ballarat, Victoria, to take place on 5 November at the Ballarat Mechanics Institute.
The first session will feature Katia Ariel discussing her 2024 Stella shortlisted debut, The Swift Dark Tide, and her second novel, Ferryman: The Life and Deathwork of Ephraim Finch, with Kelly Gardiner.
Following the first session, 2025 Stella shortlisted author Samah Sabawi will speak with Fatima Meashan to ‘discuss art, activism and storytelling that crosses boards – of place, politics and the heart’, said organisers.
Stella Day Out is a free one-day literary festival that ‘celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature’.
The organisation has also recently run events in Warrnambool, Adelaide, Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra. Future events are planned in Hobart and Perth. Programs are released individually.
More information about the upcoming Ballarat event is available on the Stella website.
