Donovan wins inaugural Novelry Prize
The Novelry has announced Stella Donovan as the winner of the inaugural Novelry Prize for her submission titled “Grace Labeille is turning 20 on top of a man who does not love her and will not date her”, reported BookBrunch yesterday.
Donovan, a New York–based communications strategist, wins £75,000 (A$153,473) and a place in the Novelry’s The Finished Novel course.
Judges said Donovan’s submission “offered a unique and touching insight into the ways we connect with each other in these troubled times” with a “fresh voice and intriguing premise”.
The Novelry is an online writing school founded by Booker Prize longlistee Louise Dean.
Its inaugural prize attracted 22,500 entries. Seven other finalists were also revealed, and each will also receive a place in The Finished Novel course.
