Voss Literary Prize 2025 longlist announced

The longlist for the 2025 Voss Literary Prize, awarded to the best novel published in Australia in the previous year, has been announced.
The longlisted titles are:
- The Burrow (Melanie Cheng, Text)
- Compassion (Julie Janson, Magabala)
- The Degenerates (Raeden Richardson, Text)
- Ghost Cities (Siang Lu, UQP)
- Highway 13 (Fiona McFarlane, A&U)
- A Language of Limbs (Dylin Hardcastle, Picador)
- One Another (Gail Jones, Text)
- Theory & Practice (Michelle de Kretser, Text)
- Translations (Jumaana Abdu, Vintage)
- Vortex (Rodney Hall, Picador).
The winner of the award receives $5000.
Established in 2014, the Voss Literary Prize is dedicated to the memory of historian Vivian Robert Le Vaux Voss and managed by the Australian University Heads of English, the peak body for the study of English at Australian universities.
The winner of the 2024 prize was Alexis Wright for Praiseworthy (Giramondo). More information is available on the Voss Literary Prize website.
