Production manager, Sydney

NewSouth is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Production Manager to join its collaborative and dynamic team.

Reporting to the Executive Publisher, in this role you will be responsible for managing the production needs for print and e-books for NewSouth, exploring innovative formats, project planning and scheduling, quality control, budget management, liaising with local and international printers and other industry partners, and assisting other publishers represented by NewSouth Books. You’ll have a passion for books and will possess the following skills:

• Comprehensive and up-to-date contacts and technical knowledge of all print and digital formats
• A strong eye for detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to develop and execute complex production plans and schedules, and adhere to budgets
• Effective negotiation skills
• InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills, and a willingness to learn new software.
