Wiley acquires Lishman’s next nonfiction title

Wiley has acquired world rights to self-help title Only You by Marny Lishman, via Simone Landes of TLS Talent.

According to the publisher, Only You is designed for readers experiencing separation, loss or extended singlehood. It is a map to navigate from “loneliness to contentment”.

Based in Western Australia, Lishman is a health and community psychologist and mindset coach. She is the author of Crisis to Contentment (Affirm, 2024) and Burnout to Brilliant (Affirm, 2023).

Lishman said, “I wanted to write a book about how to navigate the pain of being alone, whether through heartbreak, singleness or loss and ultimately turn solitude into a powerful, enriching experience of self-discovery and growth. Because it can be!

“This book is written to disrupt the negative rhetoric about being alone. To tell people that it’s nothing to fear, but rather, something to embrace.”

Commissioning editor Jordon Lott said, “There’s no shortage of books to help someone find love or get over an ex, but not a lot to help people embrace their single life and shape it into something that fulfills them.

“Marny’s lived experience as a confidently single woman and her expertise as a clinical psychologist, combined with her brilliant storytelling and actionable advice, makes this a truly unique offering for anyone afraid of being alone.”

Wiley plans to publish Only You in April 2026.
