Bakers Lane acquires Coomer’s “Ravensbourne”
Bakers Lane Books has acquired world rights to Ravensbourne, a young adult novel by Amy Coomer, in a deal brokered by agent Belinda Bolliger.
Ravensbourne follows 17-year-old Maisie McDevitt as she investigates who sold her friend Logan the pill that ended his life at the Ravensbourne Music Festival.
Coomer – an author, actor and screenwriter based on the Gold Coast – is the author of Boys on a Train and Rosemary Boy, two young adult novels exploring the complexities of human connection and identity. Her debut novel was a finalist for the 2022 Leapfrog Press Global Fiction Prize.
Coomer said, “Finding a publisher for Ravensbourne means everything to me. I even got a small raven pre-emptively tattooed on my wrist after I submitted the manuscript to my literary agent. I just believed in it, and it’s so wonderful to find someone – Ginny – who believes in it as much as I do.”
Publisher Ginny Grant said, “When Ravensbourne came through my email, I dropped everything and spent the next two days completely absorbed in the engrossing story. Ravensbourne is the third young adult title acquired in as many months, and I’m incredibly excited about our growing YA list.”
Bakers Lane has scheduled Ravensbourne for an October 2026 release.
