Blak & Bright board director Harrison steps down

Literary festival Blak & Bright has announced that Jane Harrison (The Visitors, HarperCollins) has stepped down from the board.

Harrison was the festival’s first artistic director and CEO. In 2024, she stepped down from the position, handing the reins to Bebe Oliver.

The festival first ran in 2016, with 1500 attendees across 4 days of events. At the next festival, in 2019, the attendee count rose to 2500.

Organisers said, “We would like to farewell Jane Harrison. […] Jane was foundational to the establishment of Blak & Bright, and we are grateful for her contribution.”

In 2026, Blak & Bright will appoint 3 new board members.
