Larrikin House acquires Vee & Layton’s next picture book

Larrikin House has acquired rights to Archie Can’t Sit Still, a picture book by Dani Vee and James Layton, illustrated by Davilyn Lynch.

According to the publisher, the picture book follows Archie, a creative, noisy child who loves adventure. With his imagination, there isn’t much he can’t do – except sit still. It’s at the go-kart track that Archie moves into hyper- focus overdrive.

Vee is a publisher at Larrikin House. Among her previous books are My Supercharged ADHD Brain (with James Layton) and My Pet Croc (both also published by Larrikin). Vee also hosts literary podcast Words and Nerds, which has been downloaded more than 1 million times.

Vee said, “A follow up to the hugely successful My Supercharged ADHD Brain, this book dispels the ‘naughty boy’ myth and focuses on the positive aspects of ADHD as well strategies to keep kids engaged (particularly boys).”

The publisher described the book as “a positive and fun story about having ADHD and what it means for kids to be neurodivergent”, noting “we want kids to find themselves”.

Larrikin House plans to publish Archie Can’t Sit Still in June 2026.
