The Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA) celebrate the exceptional talents and creativity of the book industry in Australia every year. There’s still some time to submit your entries for ABIA 2026, but please note that the nominations are closing soon.

Book Awards
There are 14 awards in the Book Award category. Only books published in the preceding year are eligible for entry. Books can only be entered into one category, with the exception of the Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year and the Social Impact Book of the Year Award.

Audiobook Awards
There is still time to showcase your audiobook by submitting any nominations ahead of that deadline.

Business Awards
Highlight the work of your publisher or commissioning editor with a business award. There is a new award for children’s publishers along with a broadened criteria for the marketing/publicity campaign award.

Retail Awards
There will be 3 awards to celebrate excellence in Australian retail over the 2025 calendar year, with Bookshop of the Year joined by Book Retailer of the Year and Multicategory Retailer of the Year.
