Sorrento Writers Festival announces 2026 program
The Sorrento Writers Festival (SWF) has announced its 2026 festival program, running from 23 to 26 April 2026 in Sorrento, Victoria.
This year’s festival will feature over 180 speakers across more than 160 events.
Guests on the program include Geraldine Brooks, Sofie Laguna, Heather Rose, JP Pomare, Toni Jordan, Pip Williams, Jock Serong, Evelyn Araluen, Shokoofeh Azar, Helen Garner, Peter FitzSimons, Chris Kohler, Helen Trinca and more.
Events include the 2026 Barry Jones Oration, set to be delivered by Peter Doherty; and Drinks with the Prize Winners, where attendees will hear from Laguna, Williams, Bri Lee, Erik Jensen and Patrick Mullins.
Founder and director Corrie Perkin said, “Writers festivals are extraordinary and wonderful opportunities for people to connect, listen, discuss ideas, share knowledge and be together.
“Our mission is clear: we want to bring people together in a safe and mutually respectful environment, and we want to introduce them to some of Australia’s greatest thinkers, leaders and storytellers, We want to create discussions and encourage further inquiry and also nurture creative thinking.”
