HarperCollins acquires Ferguson’s narrative nonfiction
HarperCollins has acquired ANZ rights to narrative nonfiction by Kirstin Ferguson in a multi-book deal brokered by Key People Creative Management.
Ferguson has worked as an officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, a CEO of an international consulting firm and acting chair and deputy chair of the ABC. She has a weekly column, “Got a Minute?”, about leadership and work life in the Sydney Morning Herald and the Age. She is the author of Blindspotting (Penguin, 2025), Head & Heart (Viking, 2023) and Women Kind (with Catherine Fox, Murdoch Books, 2018).
Ferguson said, “It feels as though everything I’ve done so far has been leading to this moment. I’m thrilled to be partnering with HarperCollins on a body of work that brings long-hidden stories into the light – and this is only the beginning.”
Of Ferguson, publisher Sophie Ambrose said, “She brings the rigour of a researcher, the precision of a writer, and the voice of a storyteller. Her books are sure to be landmark contributions to Australian narrative nonfiction.”
The first title is set to be published in 2027.
