Dublin Literary Award 2026 shortlist announced

The shortlist for the 2026 Dublin Literary Award has been announced.

The shortlisted titles are:

  • The Emperor of Gladness (Ocean Vuong, Vintage)
  • Gliff (Ali Smith, Penguin General)
  • In Late Summer (Magdalena Blažević, trans by Anđelka Raguž, Linden Editions)
  • Live Fast (Brigitte Giraud, trans by Cory Stockwell, Ecco)
  • Perspectives (Laurent Binet, trans by Sam Taylor, Vintage)
  • What I Know About You (Éric Chacour, trans by Pablo Strauss, Pushkin).

Nominations for the Dublin Literary Award are submitted by librarians and readers from libraries around the world. The winner receives €100,000 (A$165,000) or, if the book has been translated, the author receives €75,000 (A$124,000) and the translator €25,000 (A$41,000).

As previously reported, Australian author Evie Wyld was among the 20 authors whose novels were longlisted for the 2026 award in February.

The winner of the 2026 award will be announced as part of the International Literature Festival Dublin on 21 May.
