Local authors longlisted for 2026 CWA Daggers
Local authors Sam Guthrie, Laura McCluskey, Zoë Rankin and Jennifer Trevelyan are among those whose works have been longlisted for the UK Crime Writers’ Association’s (CWA) 2026 Dagger Awards.
Guthrie, McCluskey, Rankin and Trevelyan were longlisted for the ILP John Creasey (First Novel) Dagger for The Peak (HarperCollins), The Wolf Tree (HarperCollins), The Vanishing Place (Moa Press) and A Beautiful Family (A&U) respectively.
Created in 1955, the CWA awards “honour the very best in the crime-writing genre”. In total, 13 Daggers are awarded, with each winner receiving a Dagger trophy and a one-year membership to the CWA.
The shortlists will be announced on 28 May, and the winners on 2 July.
