Publisher of Patterson memoir to be revealed in “coming weeks”

A memoir by Simon Patterson, the estranged husband of murderer Erin Patterson, has been acquired by an as-yet-unnamed publisher, reported the Guardian.

Patterson’s spokesperson, Jessica O’Donnell, told Guardian Australia that details about the book would be revealed in the coming weeks, declining to name the publisher or say whether Patterson was writing the book himself or with a ghostwriter.

“Simon won’t be communicating at any point in time,” said O’Donnell. “He will allow his story to be told through the book and that’s how he wants his words to be heard. He wants to remain a private person.”

In September 2025, Erin Patterson was convicted of murdering Simon Patterson’s parents, Don and Gail, and his aunt, Heather Wilkinson, by poisoning them with death cap mushrooms in July 2023.

O’Donnell said publication of Simon Patterson’s memoir would be delayed until the conclusion of appeals processes linked with the case.

“I would imagine there will be a lot of people who would like to understand Simon’s point of view,” said O’Donnell.
