Hardie Grant Gift (HGG) is a division of Hardie Grant Publishing, a leading Australian-owned independent publisher. HGG represents leading local and international publishers and supplies a curated range of books, stationery, puzzles, games and lifestyle products to gift retailers and other non-bookstore customers across Australia.

We are seeking a commercially driven Sales & Business Development Manager with strong retail industry experience, a hands-on approach and the ability to lead, motivate and grow a high-performing sales team.

In this key leadership role, you will work closely with the Head of Business Development to drive strategic sales growth across HGG. You will lead new business development, strengthen key national accounts and expand HGG’s presence across the retail and gift landscape, while ensuring strong collaboration across sales, product, logistics and marketing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing sales strategies to drive channel growth and win new business
• Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities and converting new customers
• Managing and growing key accounts through strong relationship management and commercial negotiation
• Leading customer presentations, range reviews and partnership discussions
• Providing clear leadership, coaching and support to Area Managers and external sales agents to deliver revenue targets
• Using sales reporting, forecasting and market insights to monitor performance, identify opportunities and guide strategy

To succeed, you will bring proven sales leadership, business development or key account management experience, ideally within publishing, gift, retail, consumer products or a related sector. You will ideally have a strong understanding of wholesale or retail environments, excellent commercial acumen, and a collaborative leadership style.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Melbourne (Collingwood) office, with a salary range of $105,000–$115,000 plus superannuation.
