Wiley acquires Phillips’s “The One-Page Investing Plan”
Wiley has acquired world rights to The One-Page Investing Plan: Start Simple, Stay Patient, Build Serious Wealth by Scott Phillips, direct from the author.
The publisher said the book “makes a compelling promise to time-poor, overwhelmed Australians: you don’t need expertise, perfect timing, or a large starting balance to build serious wealth”, adding that the book’s key takeaway was that investing success isn’t about being clever but about “starting, staying patient, and following a plan simple enough to actually stick to”.
“Scott has an incredible talent in making big financial concepts feel grounded and easy to understand,” said commissioning editor Jordon Lott.
Phillips is chief investment officer at The Motley Fool Australia, a private financial and investing advice company, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Management) and a Graduate Diploma of Accounting.
The author said, “Investing can seem daunting; […] a surprising number of investors make things way too complex, often ending up with worse results. But building lasting wealth doesn’t require either secret knowledge or complex strategies. It requires a little knowledge, a simple process, and some self-discipline. That’s what this book is about: a few, simple things, done well and repeatedly.”
Wiley intends to publish The One-Page Investing Plan on 26 August.
