Wheeler Centre 2026 Hot Desk Fellows announced

The Wheeler Centre has announced the 22 successful applicants for its 2026 Hot Desk Fellowships.

The emerging writers are:

  • Grace Hall (Gabrielle Williams Fellowship)

  • Gurmeet Kaur
  • Lise Leitner
  • Sarinah Masukor
  • Madison Pawle
  • Vuong Pham
  • Jana Pleyto
  • Ernest Price
  • Tayla Richardson
  • Shahrin Shamim (Just Pretending Playwright)
  • Samantha Smith
  • Saraid Taylor
  • Annie Zhang.

Wheeler Centre CEO Erin Vincent said the followships “are one of the most meaningful things we do – giving emerging writers a desk and a creative community”. Now in its 15th year, the fellowship includes a $1250 stipend and a desk in the Wheeler Centre’s Melbourne building for a 10-week period. Fellows also share work in the Wheeler Centre’s Next Big Thing reading event series.
