Varuna 2026 Trans and Gender Diverse Fellowship recipients announced

Varuna, the National Writers’ House has announced the recipients of the 2026 Trans and Gender Diverse Fellowship.
The fellowship recipients are:
- Dani Leever
- Hay Elliott-Ryan
- Mohammad Taha
- Robin M Eames
- Sally Henderson
- Siofra Thomas.
Six further writers were highly commended:
- Charley Sanders
- Elliott McMahon
- Em Readman
- Jack Jenkins
- Lise Leitner
- Mohammad Awad.
Now in its second year, the fellowship is open to emerging trans and gender diverse writers living anywhere in Australia.
The fellowship recipients receive a one-week residency at Varuna from 3 to 10 August 2026, including free travel to the location.
