A&U acquires “Twelve Months to Financial Freedom”

Allen & Unwin (A&U) has acquired world rights to Twelve Months to Financial Freedom: Take Control of Your Money One Month at a Time by Canna Campbell and Michael Thompson, via Catherine Drayton at InkWell Management.

Described as the “essential guide for anyone who wants to get ahead financially but doesn’t have the time or knowledge to do it”, the book draws on Campbell and Thompson’s podcast How Do They Afford That?

A financial planner with more than two decades of experience, Campbell is the author of The $1000 Project and Mindful Money (both Viking) and the creator of financial-literacy platform SugarMammaTV. Thompson, a journalist, co-owns the podcast company Fear & Greed and has written 2 novels, How to Be Remembered (A&U) and All the Perfect Days (Pantera).

Campbell said, “We wrote this book to cut through the noise and confusion around money. So many people feel overwhelmed by information, opinions and where to even begin. As a result, they don’t start at all, which as a financial planner, I know comes with so much regret later on.”

Thompson said, “We wrote this book for anyone who feels like they should be doing more with their money, but doesn’t quite know where to start. In other words – we wrote it for people like me.”

Publisher Sally Heath said, “This smart book is completely of the moment: it is a friendly guide to financial wellbeing when cost of living is a major issue. I love the dynamic between Canna and Michael and their calendar structure truly makes aspirations achievable.”

A&U plans to publish Twelve Months to Financial Freedom in September.
