ABA Bookseller of the Year shortlists announced
The Australian Booksellers Association (ABA) has announced the shortlists for its Bookseller of Year awards.
The nominated booksellers in each category are:
Text Publishing Bookseller of the Year
- Charlotte Austin-Lindsay, Ink Bookshop
- Julia Cahill, Three Sparrows Books
- Michelle Delle Vergin, Booktique Albury & Wangaratta
- Sarah Deasy, Avid Reader
Penguin Random House Young Bookseller of the Year
- Eleanor Dooley, Avid Reader
- Madeleine Laing, Fullers Bookshop
- Alice Stephenson, MacLean’s Booksellers
- Marina Sano, Amplify Bookstore
Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing Children’s Bookseller of the Year
- Fiona Chamberlain, Paper Bird Children’s Books & Art
- Kasey Chambers, Matilda Bookshop
- Janine Larson, Readings Kids
- Mischa Parkee, Bloomin Books.
The awards recognise booksellers “who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their craft, their customers and their communities”.
Last year’s winners were Sally Tabner (Bookseller of the Year), Sophie Wigan (Young Bookseller of the Year), and Allyx Lathrope (Children’s Bookseller of the Year).
This year’s winners, along with the inaugural recipient of the Lifetime Achievement in Bookselling Award, will be announced at the 2026 ABA Conference Gala Dinner on Sunday 14 June in Canberra.
