NT History Book Award 2026 finalists announced

Library & Archives Northern Territory (LANT) has announced the finalists for the 2026 NT History Book Award.

The finalists are:

• Clever Men (Martin Thomas, Allen & Unwin)
• Sex and Savagery in the Good Colony (Julie Marcus, Wakefield Press).

“These outstanding works explore pivotal moments in our history, uncover new perspectives on the Territory’s past, and deepen our understanding of the people and events that have shaped the Northern Territory,” said LANT.

The winners will be announced on 23 September at the NT Writing Awards, an event combining the winner announcements for the NT History Book Award, the NT Literary Awards and the NT Book Awards, to be held in Garramilla/Darwin and Mparntwe/Alice Springs, and live streamed.
