Hardie Grant’s dedicated children’s publishing division is now looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Brands Project Editor to join our Brands team. Our portfolio of globally beloved brands includes Winnie-the-Pooh, Star Wars, Miffy, Barbie, Sesame Street and Peanuts.

You’ll help bring a range of exciting, brand publishing projects to life — coordinating projects, managing approvals, providing editorial support and ensuring titles are delivered accurately, on time and to a high standard.

About the role

As Brands Project Editor, you will support the Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing (HGCP) Brands team in producing best-in-class publishing through the coordination and project management of books across our portfolio of globally beloved brands.

You will:

  • Project manage assigned HGCP Brands titles from project set-up through to final files, maintaining schedules and coordinating key milestones.
  • Coordinate licensor approvals, including preparing and submitting materials, communicating feedback internally and tracking approvals through to completion.
  • Provide editorial support including proofreading, checking corrections and reviewing files.
  • Coordinate project materials including file sourcing, file management and briefing materials
  • Support the Brand Manager with creative and editorial briefs, including collating brand guidelines, comparative titles, reference materials and assets.
  • Create and maintain accurate title metadata in Firebrand and refresh backlist metadata and materials as required.
  • Support the Head of Brands & Product and Brand Manager with research, information gathering, document preparation and other portfolio-related tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with Design, Production, Sales, Marketing and Administration to support the smooth delivery of projects.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong proofreading and file-checking skills. (Previous experience in an editorial role is preferred)
  • Ideally 2-3 years experience in book publishing or a complementary industry (e.g., brands, licensing, toys).
  • A clear and proactive communicator who enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working across both editorial and project coordination tasks.
  • Interested in developing their skills and capability across publishing, editorial coordination and project management.
  • Responsive, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality work.
