Production Manager, Hardie Grant, Melbourne

Hardie Grant Books are looking to appoint an energetic, organised and creative person to manage the production of around 100 new books, 80 reprints and 60 new editions annually. The successful applicant will manage new titles from initial concept and budget development to ensure the best product is produced on time and on budget.

The Production Manager works closely with design and editorial on our award-winning, diverse list of titles and will be required to find innovative solutions to our production needs. You will be required to also work closely with local and overseas suppliers, printers and pre-press and be responsible for negotiating competitive rates, schedules and ensure quality work.

A minimum of three years book production experience is required as well as a high level of skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programs. Strong negotiation skills and excellent scheduling and budgeting skills are a must. High level communication, organisational, and trouble shooting skills are also part of this role.
