In the US, a pilot program has launched in six New Jersey libraries to offers free accredited high school diploma and career certificates online, reports StateTechMagazine. The pilot program was funded by grants from the state’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the Clinton Global Initiative. Students are matched with an online academic coach and can earn a certificate in one of eight areas, including homeland security, office management, and child care and education.
