Oz candidate stands for IFLA presidency

Former Australia Library and Information Association (ALIA) president Christine Mackenzie is standing for the role of president of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).

ALIA is supporting Mackenzie’s bid for the presidency, which would run from 2017 to 2019, in an open letter to members.

Mackenzie is currently a member of the IFLA Governing Board.

Former CEO and State Librarian Alex Byrne is the last Australian to serve as IFLA president, from 2005 to 2007.
