New memoir scholarship and St Albans Writers’ Festival residency

The 2018 Faber Writing Academy scholarships competition is now open. Our scholarships enable the winning students to enrol in our flagship courses for free. There’s two important additions this year:

Faber Writing Academy now offers three (instead of two) scholarships: two for Writing a Novel—Stage 1 (one for our Sydney course and one for our Melbourne course starting 6 March 2018) and a NEW scholarship for our True Stories (memoir/narrative nonfiction) Sydney course (starting 2 February 2018).

The 2018 Sydney Writing a Novel scholarship winner will, in addition, receive a free writing residency (3-8 June 2018) as well as having their course fees waived. This is due to the generosity of St Alban Writers’ Festival who, like the Academy, are keen to nurture emerging writers. The residency will take place at one of the historic dwellings in the picturesque village of St Albans.

The deadline for all scholarship applications is midnight on Friday 15 December 2017. The three scholarship winners will be announced on Tuesday 16 January 2018. For more information, click here.
