‘Hickory Dickory Dash’ to be read for 2018 National Simultaneous Storytime

Tony Wilson and Laura Wood’s new picture book Hickory Dickory Dash (Scholastic)—released in February 2018—has been chosen for the Australian Library and Information Association’s (ALIA) National Simultaneous Storytime next year.

Wilson and Wood’s The Cow Tripped Over the Moon (Scholastic) was chosen for the 2017 event, which was the largest to date with over 686,324 people participating.

National Simultaneous Storytime will take place at 11am on 23 May 2018 as part of Library and Information Week, which runs from 22-28 May.

Next year will also see ALIA partner with the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) to bring the event to New Zealand libraries for the first time.

Now in its 18th year, National Simultaneous Storytime brings together thousands of children across the country together to read the same picture book. Events will be held in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes and bookshops.
