SLWA partners with Minderoo Foundation
The State Library of WA (SLWA) has partnered with Andrew and Nicola Forrest’s Minderoo Foundation to develop a project that ‘retraces and reinterprets’ John Forrest’s 1874 trek from Geraldton to Adelaide, in search of an inland water supply.
The project will include community engagement, using SLWA’s Storylines model of digital repatriation and reinterpretation; creative interpretation; and research into private and public papers relating to Forrest’s expedition.
The project will also include a number of regional displays, public programs, educational resources, engagement with Aboriginal communities in the Yamatji and Western Desert areas, commissioned artworks and a major exhibition at the State Library in 2019.
