National Book Award 2018 fiction longlist announced

In the US, the National Book Award fiction longlist has been announced.

The finalists in the fiction category are:

The Boatbuilder (Daniel Gumbiner, McSweeney’s)
Where the Dead Sit Talking (Brandon Hobson, Soho Press)
An American Marriage (Tayari Jones, Vintage)
The Great Believers (Rebecca Makkai, Fleet)
The Friend (Sigrid Nunez, Riverhead)
There, There (Tommy Orange, Harvill Secker)
Heads of the Colored People (Nafissa Thompson-Spires, Chatto & Windus)
