New Darling Square library to open next week

The new City of Sydney Library at Darling Square will open on 28 October.

The Darling Square Library occupies two floors of the six-storey Exchange building, which also has a market hall, rooftop bar, restaurant and childcare centre.

The Darling Square Library is about four times the size of the Haymarket Library it replaces, and will house a collection of over 30,000 items, a dedicated children’s area and Sydney Library’s Asian literature collection.

The library also includes meeting rooms and the Ideas Lab, a makerspace workshop and multipurpose room for technology and creative start-ups.
