NT Writers Festival program announced

The program for this year’s NT Writers Festival, which runs from 1–4 October, has been announced.

The festival’s theme is ‘Gunamidirra garawa birditj | when the tides turn’. Live events, including storytelling, discussions, conversations, walks, readings and music, will be held at the new festival venue at George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens.

Sessions will feature NT artists, plus ‘one or two’ interstate guests on digital platforms. Writers appearing at the festival include Barry Jonsberg, Mirandi Riwoe, Behrouz Boochani, Trent Dalton, Thomas Mayor and Samantha Fry.

As reported by Books+Publishing in April, the festival was postponed until October due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
