APA, Australia Reads to host Indies Virtual Roadshow

The Australian Publishers Association (APA) and Australia Reads are hosting a free online roadshow showcasing upcoming releases from independent publishers today, Wednesday, 16 September.

The 12 independent publishers presenting at the Indies Virtual Roadshow are:

  • Aboriginal Studies Press
  • Affirm Press
  • Big Sky Publishing
  • Black Inc. Books
  • Exisle Publishing
  • Fremantle Press
  • Giramondo Publishing
  • Magabala Books
  • Pantera Press
  • Scribe Publications
  • Text Publishing
  • University of Queensland Press.

‘It’s been a great experience bringing the Indie Roadshow to life,’ APA CEO Michael Gordon-Smith told Books+Publishing.

‘This year has presented challenges for so many of our smaller presses in promoting forthcoming books and with the expected glut this Christmas, the Independent Publishers Committee decided to join forces and grab the attention of booksellers and librarians across the country. It’s not the same as a physical get together, but the reach we’ve achieved already with the campaign is exciting and bodes well for future collaboration.’

The event will be screened via YouTube at 5pm AEST; register to receive the link to the presentation here.
