The program for the 2021 BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival, which runs 2–5 December at the State Library of NSW, has been announced.

The festival’s 40 events include panels, crime walks, debates, the inaugural Champagne & Cosy Crime Afternoon Tea and three evening events. Featured authors include Tim Ayliffe, Kodie Bedford, Larissa Behrendt, Tony Birch, James Bradley, Bryan Brown, Matthew Condon, Nicholas Cowdery, Mark Dapin, Garry Disher, Robert Drewe, Veronica Gorrie, Stan Grant, Jane Harper, Julie Janson, Meshel Laurie, Melissa Lucashenko, Louise Milligan, Auntie Dianne O’Brien, Loraine Peck and Michael Robotham.

‘After getting through another tough year and more lockdowns, it’s wonderful to get together again to talk all things crime, hear our favourite crime writers and meet new ones,’ said artistic director Catherine du Peloux Menage. ‘We’ve had great online events all year but nothing beats meeting face to face.’

The festival also includes the announcement on Saturday, 4 December of the 2021 Danger Prize for the best book, TV series, podcast or film about Sydney crime.
