PANZ conference delayed until August

The Publishers Association of New Zealand Te Rau o Tākupu (PANZ) has announced the PANZ International Conference, which was due to be held in Auckland on Friday, 4 March, has been delayed until 1 August.

The conference now follows the NZ Book Industry Awards and Booksellers NZ conference, which will be held in Auckland on 30–31 July.

‘After careful consideration we have made the difficult decision to once again push the timing of PANZ Conference out to a later date,’ PANZ said. ‘With Omicron cases increasing, planning a gathering in early March, by which time experts are predicting that we could be experiencing high Covid case numbers, is less than ideal.’

The PANZ International Conference was originally scheduled for 20 August 2021 before it was rescheduled for March this year.

Details for the program will be released in the following weeks.
