Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing

Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing (HGCP) is searching for a dynamic, creative and strategic head of marketing who will lead a team to drive all marketing activities both locally and internationally. Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing is the young readers’ division of Australia’s largest independent publisher, and the home of best-selling, award-winning and ground-breaking books for children and teens. The role

Working on a varied and exciting list of kid’s books and with some of with some of Australia’s biggest authors and illustrators, you will lead a team to develop, manage and implement strategic marketing campaigns with a focus on digital, education and retail. You will contribute to the international expansion of the HGCP program through driving the international marketing strategy on key titles, influencing, and managing freelance marketing and publicity in UK and US, and develop plans to expand international focus of the marketing team

The head of marketing reports to the managing director and forms part of the management team, is integral to shaping publishing projects and will work collaboratively with our sales and publishing teams to represent consumer and market perspective in branding, positioning, channel and pricing strategies.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Minimum of 5 years’ marketing experience
  • Creative, highly organised, efficient, have excellent communication skills, and is a great multitasker
  • Experience in marketing children’s products, an excellent understanding of the Australian retail landscape and an interest in expanding that focus internationally
  • Excellent understanding of the evolving digital marketing landscape and interested in exploring new opportunities that space
  • Proven brand building experience.
