A&U acquires London debut

Allen & Unwin has acquired world rights to debut novel Love on the Air by radio presenter and podcaster Ash London.

Love on the Air follows radio host Alex York as she lands the gig of a lifetime and is forced to deal with corporate bosses, ratings drama and unexpectedly falling in love. The story ‘draws on London’s extensive experience in the commercial radio world,’ according to the publisher.

A&U associate publisher Tessa Feggans said the novel offers ‘a delicious fictional peek at the world of celebrity musicians and commercial radio within a vibrantly fun and propulsive romance’, adding that London is ‘a fresh new talent to watch in this space’.

Said London: ‘After ten years as a radio host, I found myself sitting on more ridiculous stories than I knew what to do with, and I’m chuffed that so many of them have now found a fictionalised home within the pages of Love on the Air. Working with Allen & Unwin on this novel has been an absolute joy and I can’t wait for the world to meet Alex York!’

A&U plans to publish Love on the Air in February 2025.
