Big Day of Books Perth program announced
ABC Radio, Fremantle Press, UWA Publishing, Magabala Books and Boffins Books have announced the program for the Big Day of Books Perth.
‘When the Perth Writers Festival was postponed, Fremantle Press, Magabala Books and UWA Publishing reached out to see if other Australian publishers could suggest writers interested in engaging with WA audiences and writers,’ said the organisers. ‘The result is a program of six sessions featuring 15 fiction and nonfiction writers of adult or young adult books, representing eight Australian publishers. Each is an accomplished speaker with a passion for storytelling and a recent book to match.’
Danielle Benda, manager of 720 ABC Radio Perth, said: ‘The ABC […] knows the value of the arts and the importance of supporting writers and encouraging reading. Perth’s book-loving community is full of enthusiastic and engaged readers who love to hear from Australian writers.’
Writers speaking at the event include Helen Milroy, David Whish-Wilson, Bebe Oliver, Fleur McDonald and Kate Emery.
Big Day of Books Perth will air 28 June 2025. Further information – including the program – is available on the Big Day of Perth website.
