BookPeople 2025 Book of the Year, Bookseller of the Year winners announced

BookPeople has announced the winners of the 2025 Book of the Year Awards, and the Bookseller of the Year awards.

Adult fiction

  • Dusk (Robbie Arnott, Picador)

Adult nonfiction

  • The Season (Helen Garner, Text)

Children’s

  • The Midwatch (Judith Rossell, HGCP)

Bookseller of the year

  • Sally Tabner, Bookoccino, Avalon Beach, NSW

Young bookseller of the year

  • Sophie Wigan, Harry Hartog, Carindale, Queensland

Children’s bookseller of the year

  • Allyx Lathrope, Kinokuniya, Sydney.

Two lifetime member awards were also presented, the first to Jay Landsdown, the owner of Constant Reader in Crows Nest, NSW, and the second to Robbie Egan, the outgoing CEO of BookPeople.

The winners were announced at the BookPeople conference’s gala dinner and awards night on 15 June at the Brisbane City Hall. Shortlists were previously announced for the Bookseller of the Year and Book of the Year awards.
