Stella Day Out announces Adelaide program

Stella Day Out, a one-day literary festival that ‘celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature’, has announced a date and full program for an Adelaide stop.

The free, one-day festival will take place on 17 July, from 11am–4pm, at the Allan Scott Auditorium on the UniSA City West Campus, and feature authors in conversation with local moderators.

Sessions include Hannah Kent (Always Home, Always Homesick, Picador) exploring belonging and hope with Jo Case (Boomer and Me, Hardie Grant); Stephanie Radok (Becoming a Bird, Wakefield) speaking on ‘full personal disclosure’ with Heather Taylor Johnson (Jean Harley Was Here, UQP); and Michelle de Kretser discussing Theory & Practice (Text) with journalist and presenter Julia Lester.

Stella Day Out was first launched in 2023. The 2025 locations will include Warrnambool, Canberra, and Darwin, with programs released individually.

More information about the program is available on the Stella website.
