BookPeople invites booksellers to Midsumma Pride March

BookPeople, the Australian Booksellers Association, has invited booksellers, publishers and book industry friends to march alongside members of the association at Midsumma Pride March in Melbourne on 1 February 2026.

BookPeople said, “This Pride, we’re marching to celebrate queer booksellers, staff, and bookshops across Australia, and to show that our industry stands proudly for inclusion, visibility, and love in all its forms. If you’re a bookseller, publisher, or industry friend we’d love you to march with us!”

The association asks bookshop staff who are interested in participating in the event to express their interest via an online form or send an email to learn more.

BookPeople welcomes new CEO

Susannah Bowen has now started in her role as CEO of BookPeople, after Robbie Eagan stepped down from the role. BookPeople said, “Susannah is looking forward to working with members in the months ahead.”
