Local authors shortlisted for UK Dagger crime writing awards
Local authors Sam Guthrie, Laura McCluskey, and Zoë Rankin are among those whose works have been shortlisted for the UK Crime Writers’ Association’s (CWA) 2026 Dagger Awards.
The authors were shortlisted for the ILP John Creasey (First Novel) Dagger: Guthrie for The Peak (HarperCollins), McCluskey for The Wolf Tree (HarperCollins), and Rankin for The Vanishing Place (Moa Press).
The CWA awards “honour the very best in the crime-writing genre” and include a total of 13 Dagger awards, with each winner receiving a trophy and a one-year membership to the CWA.
The winners will be announced on 2 July.
