QWC Varuna shortlists announced
The Queensland Writers Centre (QWC) has announced shortlists for two Varuna fellowships.
Shortlisted writers and their projects are:
QWC Established Writers Fellowship
- Madeleine Dale for ‘Poem for Many Voices’
- Cass Moriarty for ‘You Beside Me: My Year of Grief and Gratitude’
- Melanie Myers for ‘Obsessions and Collectables’
QWC Underrepresented Writers Fellowship
- Helen E Crampton for ‘The Tide and the Passion Hunters’
- Edmario Lesi for ‘Schoolboys’
- Grace Wilson for ‘Goodbye, Eli Anderson’.
Open to members of the QWC, the fellowships include a two-week residency at Varuna, which are set to take place between July 2025 and June 2026. Travel costs and a manuscript consultation are included.
The QWC Established Writers Fellowship is for an established writer with at least one publication; while the QWC Underrepresented Writers Fellowship is for established or emerging writers from underrepresented groups.
Recipients will be announced later this year.
