Stella Day Out to host Hobart events
Literary organisation Stella has announced the program for its second Hobart event, running 26 September at the University of Tasmania.
Michelle de Kretser, the 2025 Stella Prize winner, will discuss the blurring of fiction and nonfiction in winning title Theory & Practice (Text), with Kate Kruimink moderating.
Following this session, 2024 shortlisted author Hayley Singer will speak on finding words for ‘the loss and transformation of the natural world in a time of climate crisis’ in a session with Erin Hortle.
Stella Day Out is a free one-day literary festival that ‘celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature’.
The organisation has also recently run events in Warrnambool, Adelaide, Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra, with more events scheduled for later in the year. Programs are released individually.
More information about the upcoming Hobart event is available on the Stella website.
