Pink Shorts Press acquires Crisp’s first nonfiction title
Pink Shorts Press has acquired Pearls, a collection of essays by Tracy Crisp.
According to the publisher, Pearls is a collection of ‘coming-of-middle-age’ memoir essays, ‘drawn from a series of award-winning monologues Crisp has performed over the last decade’.
Crisp is a writer, performer and funeral celebrant, as well as the author of two novels, Surrogate and Black Dust Dancing (both Wakefield Press). Pearls is her first nonfiction title. Her writing has also appeared in publications such as Best Australian Stories, Griffith Review, Kill Your Darlings and Island.
Publisher Emily Hart said, ‘I originally saw Tracy perform these pieces at the Adelaide Fringe and then sent everyone I know to see them. The way she weaves together personal heartbreak and humour translates so fantastically to the page.’
Pink Shorts Press plans to release Pearls during Adelaide Writers’ Week 2026.
