UBD freight change

Following the recent change to our New Release deliveries we have continued to assess our distribution needs, expectations and partnerships. Unfortunately we still have concerns that some service levels will not meet the standard we require to safeguard the all-important Christmas period and throughout the rest of the year.

We continue to believe in a delivery model that has a diverse array of carriers. Importantly, multiple partners means we can minimise disruption by switching between suppliers if major issues arise.

FedEx (TNT) are an outstanding partner and there will be no change to the services they now provide for UBD, including the management of all new releases.

We will, however, be replacing XL Express with Startrack Express as our other main partner by late August.

Startrack Express will take over the current work performed by XL Express, with the main focus being parcel deliveries for replenishment orders. Returns pickups, via our freight scheme, will also transition to Startrack as soon as practical, with a date to be confirmed shortly.

Both Startrack and FedEx have large national fleets and will be excellent partners for UBD and Booksellers.

We are focused on providing outstanding service levels all year round but particular determined that this Christmas is without disruption. We believe our new model and partnerships will deliver on all our expectations.
