Waverley Library Award 2012 shortlist announced

The shortlist for the 2012 Waverley Library Award has been announced.

The shortlisted titles are:

  • The People Smuggler (Robin de Crespigny, Viking)
  • Double Entry (Jane Gleeson-White, A&U)
  • Sarah Thornhill (Kate Grenville, Text)
  • Kinglake-350 (Adrian Hyland, Text)
  • A Tragedy in Two Acts (Fiona Harari, Victory)
  • Housewife Superstar (Danielle Wood, Text).

 

The winner of this year’s award will be announced on 28 November. The shortlisted authors will receive the Alex Buzo Prize, which carries a cash prize of $1000, at a presentation ceremony on 7 November.

The $20,000 Waverley Library Award, known as ‘the Nib’, was established in 2002 to recognise the role of research in fiction and nonfiction. Delia Falconer won the prize in 2011 for Sydney (NewSouth). For more information about the award, click here.
