Allen & Unwin bids a fond farewell to Angela Namoi

Allen & Unwin bids a very fond farewell to Angela Namoi who is retiring from the company on Friday 3 August. Angela has been with Allen & Unwin for 33 years, and has been Rights & International Sales Director from 1999 to 2008, from which time she has exclusively looked after our Children’s list as Rights & International Sales Director – Children’s. Her first book fair was in Singapore in 1994. Many followed including her first Frankfurt Book Fair, which she has now attended 21 times, while she has represented Allen & Unwin’s children’s list at the Bologna Book Fair 20 times. In 2014 she was awarded the Australian children’s publishing industry’s major award, the Pixie O’Harris Award, for her services to Australian children’s literature. Allen & Unwin thanks Angela for her wonderful service and her untiring championing of Australian books and authors around the world.

Allen & Unwin is delighted that Carey Schroeter, having spent 5 years working alongside Angela, will move up to the role of Rights and International Sales Manager – Children’s. Congratulations Carey!
